This FLC will introduce the small group of faculty participants to existing structures and resources at the Institute and beyond, positioning those interested in this kind of work for developing their own course-based civic engagement, or collaborating with others who are already so engaged.
This FLC is for educators across Pratt schools who want to experiment with their pedagogy in response to the presence of AI. This small group of interested faculty will continue and deepen the work many of us have already been doing, putting it into relational and reflective practices.

As GenAI tools transform creative and academic spaces, their growing prevalence calls for approaches that center critical reflection. We aim to equip Pratt students with the skills to be critical, effective, and ethical users of emerging technologies. We present our upcoming Faculty Learning Community: Difficult Conversations (FLC.DC) as an opportunity to reflect on times when difficult topics have come up, within larger class topics or as part of the unplanned generative discussions in the classroom.
