The Center for Teaching and Learning: Advisory Group
Pratt’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is committed to interdisciplinarity and collaboration within all aspects of our work. Since 2021, the CTL has invited representatives from all schools and many offices to assist and guide our programming choices and help us determine our potential impact.
Our Advisory Group is ultimately a peer support network that we rely on to provide us varying perspectives on faculty needs, give us suggestions, brainstorm ideas, critique our website, and help with other insights. The Advisory Group’s suggestions are taken into consideration, but they are never ultimately fixed or final in any way in terms of CTL’s decision-making. We are very thankful for our Advisory Group, past and present, for their ongoing and honest guidance.
The CTL Advisory Group membership changes every year, although renewed memberships are always welcome. The invitation to participate and selection is based on meeting one of the following criteria:
- This person has participated in one or more major CTL programming in the past 2 years;
- This person has helped lead or co-lead a CTL event within the past 2 years;
- This person has collaborated with the CTL in significant ways within the past 2 years.
Additionally, we take into consideration representation from various schools, departments or offices, part and full time faculty ratio, as well as a commitment to be able to attend all Advisory Group meetings during the academic year. The CTL Advisory Group meets online three times per academic year (once in the Fall, and twice in the Spring) on Wednesday afternoons. For their commitment, eligible part-time faculty qualify for a stipend, which is processed in the Spring semester.
