Please join us as we hear from 2026 CTL Faculty Fellow Liz Knauer. For her CTL Fellows’ project, Liz embarked on ethnographic research that sought to provide spaces for faculty to learn from one another about their approaches to liberal arts reading, writing, researching and thinking skills in the context of widespread AI use.
This workshop will introduce faculty to best practices regarding the Starfish platform, as well as the resources available in the Student Success Center, Undergraduate Advising, and Student Support and Advocacy. In the first half of this workshop, you will learn how to best use Starfish to connect students who may be struggling to the appropriate campus support services and resources to help them succeed in your class. In the second half, we’ll discuss other strategies and practices for student success in relation to communication, difficult conversations, classroom management, and more.
Creative practices help us process uncertainty, build community, and find new perspectives on challenges. In this series, we’ll be engaging in various community building activities and creative exercises (e.g., collaging, origami, and more). We’ll meet in person in the East Reading Room (Library, 2nd Floor) on select Mondays from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.
In this fall semester book club, participants will read chapters from Jay Dolmage’s Academic Ableism: Disability and Higher Education (2017), and come together bi-weekly to discuss the themes that emerged.
