Time Care Retreat with KPrevallet 🗓

In this workshop, we’ll reflect, play, and experiment to help you build your own system of time care—one that helps you relate to time differently now that the semester has started, free up mental energy, and make room for your creative/personal work & life.

KPrevallet is a poet and conceptual soundscape artist who worked as a professor of creative writing and literature for 25 years (including 4 years at Pratt!) before moving to Gloucester, MA to become the director of retreats for the T.S. Eliot House. She is the author of six books including, most recently, A Varied and Tender Multiplicity: A materia medica of poems, plants and spells (Station Hill Press). Of relevance to this workshop is her chapbook Of Hours and Making: An oracular Time Care System which she designed as part of the Belladonna Collaborative in 2021. Creative practices help us process uncertainty, build community, and find new perspectives on challenges. In this series, we’ll be engaging in various community building activities and creative exercises (e.g., collaging, origami, and more). We’ll meet in person in the East Reading Room (Library, 2nd Floor) on select Mondays from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.

Join us for this online faculty-led series where colleagues highlight a certain classroom practice, use of a technological platform, pedagogical approach, or research on classroom/studio practice they’ve found invaluable and especially relevant for cross-departmental sharing. Each Spotlight takes place virtually and includes about 25-35 minutes of sharing with plenty of time for questions, answers, and conversation in the rest of our hour together.
