Lesson Planning Workshop: Creating Significant Learning Experiences for Students

In this workshop we will explore strategies for creating lesson plans for high student engagement using the planning tools of backwards design, including: Establishing goals, creating learning outcomes, and developing purposeful learning activities. Participants will choose a lesson topic from their syllabus to apply these strategies and develop lesson plans practicing a format called the Workshop Model. The goal of this session is to leave everyone feeling comfortable with fundamental tools and strategies for lesson planning that will support the creation of meaningful lessons on a variety of topics. Small stipend is available for part time faculty who attend.

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), in collaboration with the Learning/Access Center (L/AC), will offer the Creative Accommodations self-paced series again this Spring semester, punctuated with online synchronous Zoom conversations. The goal of this series is to support faculty as they respond effectively and appropriately to students with accommodations.
