The Pratt Institute Center for Teaching and Learning offers a number of asynchronous programs and resources for Pratt faculty to explore at their own pace. This document lists resources which can be used both individually and in groups for development and reflection on topics related to teaching and learning.

Resources about Pratt: 

  • New Faculty Orientation and Useful Links & FAQ: Get started on your semester with the information you need, such as using Starfish, classroom technologies, and more.
  • Supporting Faculty: This self-paced series introduces how various offices and support services across Pratt Institute can help new and continuing faculty, with detailed videos about many Pratt services, including the L/AC, Starfish, Public Safety, Faculty Research, and more.

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning:

Classroom Practices, Pedagogy, Course Design: 

  • Course Design Resource Hub: a collection of resources, reflections, strategies, discussion prompts, templates and techniques for artfully designing classroom materials and structuring spaces that center student learning at Pratt Institute. 
  • The Canvas Resource Guide for Faculty includes introductory resources, Pratt faculty course walkthroughs, and resources for specific tools within Canvas. The newest resource here is a recorded session on Grades, Assignments, and Feedback.
  • Creative Accommodations is a series in which participants will learn about some of the most common accommodations on Pratt campus and what they mean for learners and for the classroom. More updates are coming soon!
  • CTL Guide for HOT Situations The CTL created this guide for holding challenging conversations in academic settings. The goal of this Guide is to offer concrete practices and strategies for addressing sensitive subjects and managing difficult conversations and controversial topics in the classroom or studio, while also fostering an inclusive environment. 
  • Pedagogy Refresh: An introductory self-paced series where faculty can brush up on some of the pedagogical ideas we might encounter in the higher education classroom. Topics include Universal Design for Learning, Student Engagement, and Feedback.
