Faculty Spotlight: Claire Donato

Faculty Spotlight: Claire Donato

We hope you can join us for this semester’s Faculty Spotlights!

Please join us virtually on April 5th from 1:30-2:30 pm for a Faculty Spotlight presentation by Claire Donato. The presentation will include about 20 minutes of sharing with plenty of time for questions, answers, and conversation in the rest of our hour together.

Claire Donato (Adjunct Associate Professor, Writing Program; Distinguished Teacher Award 2020) will discuss the pedagogical significance of deep listening and the implementation of periods of shared silence in her Poetry & Psychoanalysis and The Oceanic Feeling courses. This conversation will be informed by Donato’s ongoing Zen meditation practice, which was supported in 2020 by a Pratt Research Seed Grant. Donato will be joined by several of her students.
