Faculty Personal Transformation Program

CTL Faculty personal transformation program flier with names of facilitators (reiterated in text below)

Embark on a transformative journey with our faculty-led program designed to empower educators personally, creatively and professionally. At the heart of this initiative is the recognition that faculty members, integral to the academic ecosystem, deserve dedicated resources for personal growth, resilience, and health-related opportunities. To address the critical need to support faculty’s transformation, the CTL invites applicants to participate in the Personal Transformation program.

Aiming to support faculty’s deeper needs and foster a holistic approach to resilience, diversity, and well-being, the program includes initiatives to assist with navigating the complexities of a rapidly changing world while managing new dynamics within the classroom. Along with  addressing consequential symptoms that correspond with the above, the program delves into the core needs of fostering a healthy faculty community at Pratt. The program will focus on areas such as self-expression, emotional and body-centered awareness, creativity, fostering a balanced way of being within oneself and in relationships with others, and acknowledging and working with personal impact, bias, and action, all contributing to a better and fuller sense of selves as we cultivate a more inclusive academic community.

Join us in exploring  where personal transformation becomes a shared journey, enriching our capacities around resilience, well-being, and diversity while fortifying the foundations of Pratt Institute. Let’s create an environment where each educator thrives, contributing to a vibrant, harmonious, and robust academic community of creatives. Applications are now open for faculty members eager to delve into this transformative and liberating experience.

  • Are you interested in creating or deepening cross-cultural relationships?
  • Do you seek to increase the effectiveness of your communications? Verbal and non-verbal?
  • Are you interested in tapping into your body’s innate wisdom, practicing a bottom-up, body-oriented approach to treating trauma, and modifying your stress responses?
  • Do you seek practical tools for navigating DEI-related issues?
  • Are you interested in re-discovering your capacity to be in a better relationship with yourself and others?
  • Are you in need of creating access to productive relaxation? Are you interested in releasing energetic blocks due to stress build-up?
  • Do you seek support in finding alignment, integration, and fullness? Are you curious about your level of consciousness and raising it?
  • Do you seek the experience of being profoundly seen and met?
  • Do you want to understand your parts and integrate them holistically?
  • Do you want to understand the parts of you that feel like an impostor? Or how might your sense of authority feel attacked in the classroom?
  • Are you interested in experiencing support in handling occasions or scenarios where you get triggered?

What can you expect?

During your sessions over the semester, you will:

  • Build capacity for discomfort, complexity, and the allowing and experiencing of difficult emotions.
  • Align and integrate fragmented parts, returning to wholeness.
  • Develop tolerance for imperfection, and embrace the process of accepting parts of oneself that have been subjugated and disowned.
  • Grasp a systemic approach to oneselves, our relationships, and our environments.
  • Differentiate intent versus impact, taking radical and compassionate responsibility for ourselves.
  • Expand your awareness and sensitivity to inner needs
  • Increase curiosity about your lived experience and how you take up space, navigate, and impact environments.
  • Learn grounding and productive relaxation.
