Creative Accommodations

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), in collaboration with the Learning Access Center (L/AC) is offering Creative Accommodations, a self-paced series hosted on Canvas and punctuated with synchronous online conversations.

The goal of this series is to support faculty as they respond effectively and appropriately to students with accommodations. The aim is to create a flexible “space” in classrooms to navigate the unexpected, and to provide appropriate and empathetic responses while still maintaining a focus on classroom learning.

Participants will:

  • Learn some of the most common accommodations on Pratt campus and what they mean for learners and for the classroom
  • Learn professor’s responsibilities for students with disabilities who use accommodations
  • Discuss and implement appropriate modifications and instructional strategies/interventions

THANK YOU to everyone who has completed Creative Accommodations!

82 faculty members from across Pratt have completed the course and earned the Creative Accommodations certificate during Spring 2023, Fall 2023, and Spring 2025!

For more information on Creative Accommodations recipients, view the data from the first two iterations, and data from Spring 2025.

The next session of Creative Accommodations will run in Spring 2026. Stay tuned for more details!
